Distinctives
The Five Key Distinctives of RIG Nation Churches: apostolic markers that define every RIG church. Whether in Houston or Lagos, Dallas or London, Orange County or Nairobi, a RIG church is recognizable by the same five marks.
Apostolic Order
"Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone." — Ephesians 2:20 ESV
RIG Nation was formed around a conviction: that the fivefold ministry — apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher — is not a relic of the early church but the ongoing governmental design of God for His Church. Apostolic order means genuine covering, where leaders operate under relational accountability; genuine authority, where decisions flow through proper spiritual government; and genuine reproducibility, where apostolic ministry establishes, strengthens, and multiplies churches. Apostolic authority is not rank. It is burden. Those who carry it are servants of the mission, accountable to God and to one another.
Prophetic Culture
"From Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do." — 1 Chronicles 12:32 ESV
Our name carries our mandate. RIG Nation exists to raise a generation marked by Issachar's gift — people who hear God with clarity and respond with courage. This is a culture, not a gift cluster. It is cultivated through prayer, the Word, corporate encounter, and submitted prophetic ministry. In a RIG church, the prophetic operates with order. We do not prize the spectacular over the scriptural. We do not elevate the voice of the prophet above the authority of the Word. But we refuse to build churches where God never speaks beyond the sermon. We expect Him to move. We create space for Him to do so. And we train our people to discern, weigh, and respond.
Presence Over Program
"My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." — Exodus 33:14 ESV
Moses refused to move without the presence of God. That is the posture of RIG Nation. We believe the greatest danger facing the contemporary church is not decline in attendance — it is the departure of God's manifest presence, unnoticed, while the programme continues. RIG churches are built around encounter. Our worship is not performance — it is pursuit. Our gatherings are not productions — they are threshing floors. Our measure of success is not how many came but whether people left changed, healed, commissioned, or convicted. Excellent preparation and Spirit-led spontaneity are not opposites. Structure serves presence. Presence does not serve structure.
Disciples, Not Attenders
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..." — Matthew 28:19 ESV
The Great Commission does not call us to gather crowds. It calls us to make disciples. RIG Nation takes this seriously at an institutional level — the way we build our churches, train our leaders, and measure our health is framed around discipleship, not attendance. The Refinery is our discipleship pathway — a systematic progression from first encounter with God, through intentional formation, to active deployment in ministry. Every person who enters a RIG church should be able to answer three questions: Where am I in my formation? What is my next step? Who is walking with me? Transformed lives, multiplied churches, and equipped leaders are our legacy.
Global Multiplication
"...and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." — Acts 1:8 ESV
RIG Nation was never intended to be a collection of individual churches. It is a movement with a multiplication mandate. From its founding, the vision has been global — not as ambition, but as obedience. Every RIG church plants churches. Every RIG leader trains leaders. Every RIG campus carries a sending culture. Multiplication is a conviction held from the first day of a church's life. Our three-phase global expansion — establishing domestic foundations, building international corridors, catalyzing indigenous movements — is not a growth plan. It is a stewardship of the mandate God has given this movement. We are not building a brand. We are advancing a Kingdom.
One Church. One Culture. Five Marks.
“We are both prophetic and practical. Sensitivity to the Spirit and excellence in systems. We plan carefully so that when the Spirit moves, we are free to follow. And when we plant, we carry these same convictions into every new soil — because a RIG church is not defined by its location. It is defined by its culture.”
